October hits and Instagram is flooded with spooky art from creators around the world. Several month long challenges kick off, each with a month’s worth of daily drawing prompts. Inktober is perhaps the most notable. Illustrious artist Mab Graves has also gained traction with her Drawloween Club. For several years I’ve envied my more visually talented friends as I’ve sat on the sidelines. Last year I finally realized how I, and other folks who don’t draw, could participate. All Hallows Write. Thirty one days of flash fiction, 100 words or less, inspired by the prompts for Inktober and Mab’s Drawloween. I didn’t finish last year but this October I’m all in and I invite you to join! Grab a pen, a keyboard, your phone, whatever you have to hand. Join our circle around the proverbial campfire as we trade tales of spectral scares. Tag your pieces with #AllHallowsWrite and put a little fear into each October night.
You can find my pieces posted daily to my Instagram feed. Check out the pictures below for everything I did last year.
